Bangrak runs along the southern shore of Big Buddha Bay for just under 3 kilometers from the Ferry Pier to the headland before Fisherman’s Village. The Eastern end is close to Big Buddha and the fresh food market across the bridge in Plai Laem. There are many restaurants and hotels situated along both sides of the road as well as numerous bars and shops. Sports fans are well catered for with The Premier Sports bar and The Doghouse showing most live sports events on big screens. There is the usual selection of 7-11 and Family Mart and Tesco Express convenience stores. There are a few Bank Exchange booths but no main bank branches.
Ferries run from the Pier at the eastern end and provide services to the nearby islands. Many boats also leave from the small piers along the beach to the regular Full Moon Parties on Koh Phangan. The airport is close by with arrivals 10 minutes and departures 15 minutes away.
