Big Buddha and Plai Laem

Plai Laem covers a large part of the north east peninsular from Big Buddha in the south west to Tong Son Bay in the north and across to where it meets Choengmon in the east. It is principally a residential area but includes the famous Wat Plai Laem with its massive statue of the 18-arm image of Guanyin, the Goddess of Mercy and Compassion and the Laughing Buddha statue sitting in the centre of a lake inhabited by voracious Catfish. This is the location of many fairs and concerts accompanied by impressive firework displays. Part of the temple is the famous Big Buddha situated on a man-made peninsular just to the west of the main temple. There are a number of high quality hotels in this area including the Six Senses and Tong Sai Bay. Beaches here tend to be narrow and often fully covered at high tide.

The airport is close by with arrivals 10 minutes and departures 15 minutes away.

Choengmon.

Choengmon lies on the north east peninsular and adjoins Plai Laem to the west and Chaweng to the south. It is one of the more heavily developed areas with private villas and a number of high quality hotels including the Imperial Boat House and Sala Samui. The road running through Choengmon has numerous restaurants and the usual selection of tailors and convenience stores. Choengmon Beach is regarded as one of the best beaches in Samui being quieter and less crowded than the popular Chaweng and Lamai beaches. It is a crescent of silver sand in a sheltered bay without strong currents and shelving only gradually away from the shore. A number of beach side restaurants front onto the beach.

This delightful modern detached villa provides spacious accommodation for up to twelve people in six bedrooms. An ocean front property on the north east peninsular looking across to Koh Panghan, it is easily accessible without any steep hills and within easy reach of the night life and restaurants in Bangrak, Fisherman’s Village and Chaweng.

The main ground floor accommodation is open plan comprising a living room, 12 seat dining room, kitchen, games area with pool table and quiet sitting corner. This opens out onto the pool deck and large pool with jacuzzi. A feature of the living room is the spectacular star studied LED ceiling.

There are six bedrooms, one on the ground floor, three on the second floor and one each on the two lower floors. All have private en-suite bathrooms and balconies. There is a Gym on the lower floor.
