Plai Laem

Plai Laem covers a large part of the north east peninsular from Big Buddha in the south west to Tong Son Bay in the north and across to where it meets Choengmon in the east. It is principally a residential area but includes the famous Wat Plai Laem with its massive statue of the 18-arm image of Guanyin, the Goddess of Mercy and Compassion and the Laughing Buddha statue sitting in the centre of a lake inhabited by voracious Catfish. This is the location of many fairs and concerts accompanied by impressive firework displays. Part of the temple is the famous Big Buddha situated on a man-made peninsular just to the west of the main temple. There are a number of high quality hotels in this area including the Six Senses and TongSaiBay. Beaches here tend to be narrow and often fully covered at high tide.

The airport is close by with arrivals 10 minutes and departures 15 minutes away.

The property is a small private development of luxury villas built either side of an access road to a number of larger hilltop properties in the same development, but which do not form part of this sale, some 5 kilometers north of Chaweng and 1.5 kilometres east of Big Buddha.

This north east corner of Koh Samui has for many years atttracted greater demand that other areas and has seen the greater concentration of development and values tend to be higher in comparison to other areas of the island. This is due to its easy access to beaches, a wealth of good quality restaurants, diving services, hospitals, shops etc. and is a short drive to the main tourist town of Chaweng and the airport and well as ferry services to nearby islands. It is nevertheless a very quiet tropical location providing privacy to guests.

The villas are all of a similar style and general layout having three seperate buildings which comprise a living area and kitchen, a master bedroom and two adjoining guest bedrooms. All bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms and some have Balinese outside showers. All have private swimming pools and parking for two cars.

Construction is concrete frame with clay tile roofs. Internal floors are quarry tile. Air conditioning is provided to the bedrooms only. Kitchens are fitted to European standards. Gardens are landscaped. All properties are fully furnished.
