Ban Kao, Ban Talay and Laem Sor are on the southern shores of the island, little developed compared with the remainder of Samui but there are a few residential properties and some quite expensive beach front villas in this area. Beaches are sandy with the sea being very shallow for some distance. Laem Sor Pagoda on the beach at the end of Laem Sor Road is worth a visit.

A flat area of land with a 53 m beach frontage facing almost due south. Ideally suited for a small hotel or private villa development. There is a small boat harbour a couple of hundred metres to the west and the beach is protected by the reef half a kilometre off shore.
